For December, the cards reveal a tremendous battle between duality and the coming of a renewal. This is most easily seen in the Arthurian Tarot, where the cards show Guinevere at the Stake and The Healing of the Maimed King.

In the first card, Guinevere is chained to the stake, to be burned for her crime of adultery. Although married to Arthur, she is bound by her love for Lancelot. Whipped into a frenzy by Mordred, the crowd forces Arthur to carry out the sentence, despite his lack of desire to do so. At the last minute Lancelot saves Guinevere. But even in his rejoicing, he is deeply grieved that he had to kill his friends and fellow knights. He succeeds in his task, but the consequence of his actions is tremendous.

This card indicates a high likelihood of some senseless tragedy, probably during the first part of the month. Perhaps the upset over election results and what people think it means for the future will whip up an emotional frenzy. Maybe the focus will be on the world situation. Regardless of what scenario evolves, the indicated energy leaves everyone feeling betrayed and continues to perpetuate conflict.

However, the second card points toward renewal and healing from conflict as the month progresses. Obstacles will be overcome and peace will be restored. The Healing of the Maimed King shows that a new united vision finally makes success a reality, with the dawning of new dreams and ideas. Even though this card warns that events might not quite live up to expectations, it does mean that obstacles will eventually be overcome. It will be important not to let minor problems spoil the successes that occur.

What is most amazing about all the cards is the flow of spiritual guidance and higher consciousness working to break the restriction and fear that dominates at the beginning of the month.

No matter what, we are going to see movement. Some of us may not be sure of the direction and outcome, but it is happening all the same. How well we manage our internal state in relationship to external stresses determines how we will feel as situations unfold.
Healing and transformation is at hand. Creative instincts and a universal flow of love are at work, even if we cannot understand why we are getting challenges we thought we did not want.

Sometimes we have to surrender to the new flow and trust that the angels have a perfect plan, even if we cannot see it in the moment.

We live in a time of great transformation and upheaval. But in change the possibilities evolve to new and greater heights. We are approaching the ends of the Mayan, Tibetan and Hopi calendars, which allows an acceleration of energies that brings things to a head. We all feel this pressure as the energy builds to the point of finally breaking through the old barriers, allowing humanity to step to the next level of conscious awareness.

This holiday season, we need to learn to understand and see the sacred in everything and everyone, including ourselves. If we let go of agreements that cause suffering and harm, eventually we may learn to create a heaven here on earth.

Connect to family and loved ones. Let’s appreciate all we have and allow our hearts to feel overflowing and abundant. Celebrate the precious moments and breathe in the life and wonder before us now.
