Goddess Worship Service will be held on Monday, February 8, 2010 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Come join us as we honor Aphrodite, the famous Greek Goddess of Love in all its forms!
Aphrodite. Is there another Goddess who is more ubiquitous, and yet still so mysterious? She is one of the best known of all the Goddesses in the world and rules over that most mysterious of things: Love, whether it be a classic Platonic love of soul and spirit or a lusty, raw, Earthy love of pleasure and the body.
To many when they hear the word "goddess," Aphrodite springs to mind. She has been beloved by many throughout the ages. Wars have been fought over her. Planets have been named for her. Poets and gods have pined after her. Her infamous beauty has been her boon and her bane in many tales about the Greek gods. Something that evokes a state of passion and lust in us today is still known as an "aphrodisiac" after Her festival of worship in ancient Greece.
We will also be having social time afterward if you want to talk to people, make friends, eat munchies and peruse the Community Information Table. There will be a Food Drive basket available and if you bring non-perishable food items we will deliver them to the food bank.
As always, if you would like additional information about this service or The Order of Our Lady of Salt please visit our OOLS Web Site.
Bright Blessings!
