September 20-26 — Financial Turnaround?

By Christopher Renstrom

My husband and I are losing our home to bankruptcy. Will we be able to find a home soon? And also my husband is self-employed. Will he find more work this year? I know that there are a lot of people out there with the same situation we are in, but sometimes you feel alone. Why is that?

With anticipation,

I am sorry to hear that you’re losing your home to bankruptcy. It must feel like Fate is kicking you when you are already down but it’s important to remember that you are not alone in this. There are a lot of people in the same boat which means that there are a lot of empty properties out there with agencies looking to cut some kind of deal to fill them so that they don’t have to shoulder the expense. I’m certain you’ll be able to find another place to live and soon.

Ironically losing your property could be the very thing that galvanizes you. You were born under the astrological sign of Scorpio and Scorpios really come to life in a crisis. Your Ruling Planet is Pluto and it was named after the Greek god of the underworld. Pluto ruled over the shadowy realm of the dead—so he had a bit of a morbid reputation, but corpses aren’t the only things that lie buried in the earth. There are other things too like seeds and fossils as well as gold, precious metals, and oil. In fact ploutos is Latin for wealth and it’s where we get the word “plutocrat” which means someone who’s well-to-do. But more importantly Pluto symbolizes those hidden resources that lie within you yet the only way you can tap into them is by journeying down into your own personal “hell” and facing the things you fear most.

Pluto is the planet of ordeals and the transformations that arise from them. Its energy is activated only in times of hardship. This explains why so many Scorpios live with fear and dread because there’s always a part of you that’s waiting for things to go bust. In some ways (and I know that this sounds strange) things going bust can actually be a liberating and empowering experience. First of all you don’t have to live with the fear anymore and secondly who you become on the other side of a crisis will be a stronger and more realized version of the person you were before. This is why Pluto is also known as the planet of rebirth in Astrology. Pluto always rewards those who brave its ordeals.

That said, I think you’ll find 2010 will be a kinder gentler year for you. You do have some rough spots in late April and early July, but these look bureaucratic in nature and like they’re all about getting your financial house in order. Expect lots of paperwork and you’ll have to bird-dog financial agencies to make sure that they give you the help you need. As for your husband? I think the self-employed thing has kept him at loose ends for too long. Pay attention to what transpires around March 26, 2010. This is when he’ll get an offer from out of the blue that seems farfetched and even laughable. Believe it or not this is something he should pursue because it will lead to the path he’s been looking to travel all along.
