The Aquarium Age: Feb. 11-17

By Ralfee Finn

A sing along to a Christmas favorite, Do You Hear What I Hear?

Said the smart phone to the smart TV…
Do you hear what I hear?
Everything is coming back online.
Do you hear what I hear?
The sigh, the sigh of retrograde relief
As Mercury finally goes direct.

Well…isn’t it a little like Christmas?

The detours, delays, and (dare I say it) the snafus of the last several weeks fading in the rearview mirror, and the path ahead finally clear—at least of retrograde issues. It’s enough to make a technophile fall on her knees and sing of wonder and joy. What’s more, there’s not a lot of lag time bringing the routines of daily life up to speed. Uranus, the planet that illuminates trouble spots with its thunderbolts of lightning, is continuing to inspire innovation and invention, and that translates into something new replacing the tried and true—but only when necessary. As a counterbalance to that Uranian fire, several planets are stirring the sentimental waters of Pisces, which translates into richly woven emotional threads. Be prepared for feelings…lots and lots of feelings. (I won’t say, “Nothing more than feelings….)

The ongoing Jupiter/Uranus trine continues to stimulate surprising and sudden changes of fortune. It’s fundamentally a positive interaction that combines the creativity of Uranus with the expansiveness of Jupiter. But Uranus is volatile, and when that instability mixes with Jupiter’s tendency to exaggerate, unusual manifestations are probable. Trines offer support, but given Uranus’ nature to excite whatever is stagnant, it’s possible to mistake sudden shifts in circumstances as negative occurrences rather than just what was needed to move us out the mire.

The sentimental agents of this week and next week are a lineup of planets in Pisces. Right now, it’s Neptune, Venus and Mars, but next week the Sun and the Moon join the team (or should I say “stream”?) Pisces is an empathetic Sign that feels the emotional environment keenly (even if that environment includes YouTube videos of baby elephants in Africa). Don’t get me wrong, I am as sentimental as the next person (and those who know me would say even more), but this planetary aggregation is likely to turn already tearful situations soupy. It is a great antidote to the often-harsh edge of Uranian fire. But this concentration in Pisces does have its dangers; it can turn into a deluge of feelings that are hard to resolve because you feel powerless to act on them. Try not to be overwhelmed by circumstances out of your control, circumstances that cannot be changed, circumstances that require heartfelt empathy as well as strong psychic boundaries.

As the week unfolds, try to pace yourself. You may be tempted to shift into turbocharged action as soon as Mercury goes Direct, but you might want to take your time getting up to speed. Remember, life isn’t a race. It’s meant to be lived as fully as possible.

Sun Bursts: If you know your Ascendant and/or your Moon Sign, read that too.

Aries March 21-April 19
Try not to push too hard this week, Grasshopper, and instead make deliberate choices about where you want to spend your energy and why. Take your time and get everything lined up so that your new, non-retrograde plans move forward easily.

Taurus April 20-May 20
Seemingly stagnant areas of your professional world come alive, and as they do, your schedule is jam-packed. Do your best to prioritize projects and goals, and then, even if it feels impossible to stay on track, at least you’ll have some sort of GPS system to guide your choices.

Gemini May 21-June 21
Conversations with significant others bring to light new information that could be helpful to you in a variety of ways. Allow yourself to listen without jumping to conclusions. Rather than hold on to your opinions, keep an open mind—you’ll gather much more insight if you do.

Cancer June 22-July 22
Opportunities to expand your career continue, and all you have to do is be willing to seize the moment. Of course there will be work to do, but you’re no slouch when it comes to doing whatever is necessary for success.

Leo July 23-August 22
Finally, clarity returns, particularly clarity regarding what you want in relationships, personal as well as professional. As you make your list (and check it twice) remember that healthy interactions aren’t always based on complete agreement. Sometimes an opposing point of view is essential.

Virgo August 23-September 22
Allow the situation to unfold in its own time and its own way. Of course you can push if you must, but pushing will obscure certain crucial threads that need to come to the surface, if only to let you know just how many undercurrents you’re dealing with.

Libra September 23-October 22
It’s a difficult situation that touches an old nerve, and your first knee-jerk reaction is to handle it the same ole’ way. But that wouldn’t be in keeping with all the relationship work you’ve done over the last few years. So keep your cool, and respond in a way that best expresses your progress.

Scorpio October 23-November 21
Surprising work opportunities continue to flash across your screen, and all that’s necessary to bring some of them to fruition is the willingness to take a risk. This is a rare moment when the stars are aligned to help you make impulsive or offbeat choices you can live with.

Sagittarius November 22-December 21
There are going to be moments when you are overwhelmed with tears and there are going to be even more moments when you are doubled-up with laughter. Allow the flux and the extremes—it’s simply a necessary part of creating a healthy heart.

Capricorn December 22-January 19
Rather than cling to what ‘should be’, open to what’s possible. That’s right, rely on your imagination to dial up a picture of reality that makes your soul sing. Don’t forget, whatever we focus our attention on becomes our reality.

Aquarius January 20-February 18
There’s still no holding you back because you still have a lot to say—and you’re gonna keep talking until all the people who need to hear you have heard you. Great…but don’t forget to hear yourself, and if you haven’t figured out why that’s important, spend some time thinking about it.

Pisces February 19-March 20
The aggregation of planets in your Sign could feel like a weight, or it could feel like complete permission to be all you, all the time. Choose the latter and allow yourself to feel completely in your element, comfortable and free to be yourself.
